UIUC’s Engineering Open House is this weekend! This amazing and free event is hosted on UIUC’s campus every year and has tons of exciting hands-on activities for kids, from electronics to robotics to race cars and rockets. You can find information on parking and a visitor’s guide online: http://eoh.ec.uiuc.edu
While you are there, check out the machine designed and built by Mrs. Herriott’s 5th grade class, which won second place in the regional competition for Engineering in the Classroom and will be competing at the state level at the Open House. We are so proud of what our students have accomplished our first year in this competition!
The PTO board will have a meeting this Thursday (3/10/2016) at Middletown Prairie Elementary at 6:00 pm. As always, the general public is welcome to attend and participate. You can view the meeting’s agenda here: http://goo.gl/OmmOKf
Hope to see you there!
Children who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2016 are eligible by state law for enrollment in public kindergarten. In order for the Mahomet-Seymour School District to accommodate student needs for the 2016/2017 educational year, the district needs an accurate estimate of the number of students eligible for enrollment.
Kindergarten Roundup/Pre-registration for incoming kindergarten students will be held on Tuesday, April 19 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Middletown Prairie Elementary located at 1301 S. Bulldog Drive. A letter with information about the meeting will be mailed on March 17 to all parents of kindergarten age children who came to previous developmental screenings that the district offered. If your child has not been screened or you are new to the district and have not previously contacted Middletown, please contact Lorraine Vallee or Julie Arnold at 586-5833 to be sure you receive this very important letter.
